HGV Shunter - Immediate start - Monday till Friday - full time hours
We are seeking a dedicated HGV Shunter to join our logistics operations team. This role involves the safe and efficient movement of heavy goods vehicles within our premises, ensuring smooth flow of traffic and timely preparation for deliveries or departures. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, experience with commercial vehicles, and a keen eye for safety and operational efficiency. Responsibilities
- Safely maneuver heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) within the yard or depot, including shunting and parking operations.
- Assist with the positioning of trailers and containers to facilitate loading, unloading, or departure.
- Conduct routine safety checks on vehicles prior to movement, reporting any issues promptly.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff and drivers to ensure accurate trailer placement and readiness.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements, trailer locations, and operational logs.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic management procedures within the yard environment.
- Support the loading and unloading process when necessary, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with HGVs or similar heavy vehicles.
- Knowledge of flatbed trailer handling and securing loads is highly desirable.
- Valid HGV driving license with relevant endorsements; clean driving record preferred.
- Delivery driver experience is advantageous, demonstrating familiarity with route planning and time management.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to commercial vehicle operation.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with vehicle movement and trailer handling
Shift available: Monday -Friday
Payrate: up to £19
