About the Role
We are seeking an organised, professional, and proactive Medical Secretary to join our busy GP Surgery team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive secretarial support to GPs and clinicians, ensuring the smooth and efficient management of patient correspondence, referrals, and clinical documentation.
This is role that requires excellent attention to detail, strong IT skills, and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Audio and copy typing of clinical letters and reports
- Processing referrals and medical correspondence
- Liaising with hospitals, clinics, and external healthcare providers
- Supporting clinicians with administrative tasks
- Following established practice processes and procedures
Essential Skills & Attributes
- Strong IT skills with the ability to confidently use and navigate Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to follow existing processes and apply logical thinking
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and work to deadlines
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- High level of attention to detail
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience using the clinical system EMIS
- Previous experience working within a GP Surgery or healthcare environment
Experience Required
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience working as a secretary
