Butcher - Evening and Day

R Owton Wholesale Butchers are a growing, local business based in West End, Southampton with a wide-ranging customer base encompassing retail, catering and wholesale clients with a focus on quality products and service. We are seeking Experienced Butchers to join our team on a permanent Full-time basis to support the ongoing growth of the business.
The Job:
· Breaking down carcasses into primary and secondary cuts (or exclusively working in our catering team).
· Knowledge of meat cutting and techniques.
· Good knowledge of meat traceability.
- Catering Butchery experience
· Preparing cuts for weighing, ready for packing.
· Ensuring work areas are clean and compliant with all food safety and hygiene standards.
· 5 days a week (6th day available as overtime ). Monday - Friday 3am-12pm/ 5am - 2pm
- 41.70 paid hours per week plus overtime
- 2 x unpaid breaks in each 9 hour shift
- Basic rate £13.25 - £17.00 p/h (depending on skill level and experience) plus potential £30-£35 weekly bonus. Depending on applicants entitlement.
The Candidate:
· Work efficiently as part of a large team and being able to work and meet time scales.
· Willing to support other areas within the depot when the business needs.
· Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
· Ability to stay calm and work effectively under pressure.
· Have enthusiasm, energy and passion.
· Will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Skilled Butcher
· Own transport essential.
