About the role
Join our technology team as a Cloud Solutions Architect and help design secure, scalable and reliable cloud solutions that support business growth.
You’ll work closely with software engineering, infrastructure, security and business teams to turn technical and business requirements into practical cloud architectures. This is an opportunity to take ownership of architecture decisions while working across modern cloud technologies and enterprise systems.
Key responsibilities
- Design scalable, secure and highly available cloud architectures.
- Develop cloud solution designs based on business and technical requirements.
- Work with engineering teams to deliver cloud-based solutions.
- Create architecture diagrams, technical documentation and implementation plans.
- Evaluate cloud services, platforms and emerging technologies.
- Support cloud migration and modernisation initiatives.
- Establish best practices for cloud security, governance, resilience and performance.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, software development, cybersecurity and DevOps teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve cloud performance, reliability and cost efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and architectural recommendations to stakeholders.
- Review existing systems and recommend appropriate cloud improvements.
- Support technical decisions throughout the solution delivery lifecycle.
Required skills and experience
- Professional experience in cloud architecture, cloud engineering or a closely related role.
- Strong knowledge of cloud computing principles and enterprise architecture.
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
- Understanding of networking, identity and access management, security and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience designing scalable and highly available systems.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code and automation tools.
- Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable experience
- Cloud migration or digital transformation projects.
- Kubernetes or containerised environments.
- Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code technologies.
- Cloud security and governance frameworks.
- Microservices and API-based architectures.
- Serverless technologies.
- Enterprise integration and distributed systems.
- Relevant cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
