Job description - Support/Play Assistant
Post 1: Hours of work: 3/4 days a week per school holiday and 2/3 Saturdays a month. Generally, a 7 hour work day. Contracted post, can be flexible on days. Option to add additional dates.
Post 2: Hours of work: As and when required on a zero hours contract for our fortnightly Saturday Club, Holiday Club and our community activities to bowling, meals out etc, once or twice a month.

LEAPS Suffolk provides out of school/college clubs and activities at our base site for children and young people age 5 - 25 years, with additional needs, including Autism and ADHD. We also provide community based activities within a group (not 1:1 support in the community)
- Undertake appropriate and relevant training.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures e.g. health and safety, equal opportunities, safeguarding, confidentiality etc.
- Establish and maintain good communication with the manager, colleagues, parents, visitors and people who use our service.
- Attend regular meetings including team meetings, supervision etc.
- Assist in following individual risk assessments and care plans.
- Engage with, and assist with the delivery of appropriate activities and experiences for those who attend the club.
- Be responsible for setting up and maintaining a safe, secure and stimulating environment for all.
- Assist with the supervision of all those who attend the club.
- Provide comprehensive care and support for all those who attend the club.
- Administer first aid when necessary.
- Carry out personal care while respecting the dignity of individuals.
- Adhere to the requirements of Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Complete day to day paperwork.
- Prepare a healthy snack.
- Evaluate sessions and contribute ideas to ensure good practice.
- Report any relevant information to the Session Lead.
- Any other duties as deemed appropriate to your role.
