Are you passionate about supporting children and young people to overcome barriers to learning? We are seeking dedicated, patient, and resilient Behaviour Support Workers to work in a variety of primary and secondary schools across Flintshire.
This rewarding role is ideal for individuals who are committed to promoting positive behaviour, improving student wellbeing, and helping pupils develop the confidence and skills they need to succeed both academically and personally.

The Role
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social needs.
- Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage engagement and confidence.
- Support pupils in managing their emotions and behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, SENCOs, and other professionals to implement individual support plans.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Encourage attendance, participation, and independence both inside and outside the classroom.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing, providing feedback to school staff where appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children or young people in education, youth work, care, mentoring, coaching, or a similar setting.
- A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to de-escalate challenging situations and build positive relationships.
- Experience supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), Autism, ADHD, or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs is desirable.
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, youth work, psychology, or health and social care are advantageous but not essential.
- An Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) is desirable for school-based roles in Wales.
