We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Import Clerk to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing import documentation, coordinating shipments.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise within the shipping sector, working closely with various departments including sales, logistics, and customer relationship management. The ideal applicant will possess strong data entry skills, familiarity with transportation management systems, and experience in B2B sales and negotiations. This paid position provides a vital link in our international trade operations, ensuring smooth and compliant movement of goods across borders.
Duties
- Prepare and process import documents
- Coordinate with 3PL providers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to facilitate timely deliveries
- Manage communication with clients via CRM software for order updates, lead generation, and sales management
- Negotiate shipping terms and rates with carriers to optimise costs while maintaining service quality
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal requirements related to logistics, B2B sales, and trade regulations
- Perform data entry tasks related to shipment details, inventory updates, and regulatory documentation
- Assist in the optimisation of supply chain processes through effective logistics planning and lead generation strategies
- Monitor shipment status throughout transit and resolve any issues that may arise during transportation or customs clearance
Experience
- Proven experience working within logistics or supply chain environments, preferably as an Import Clerk
- Knowledge of B2B sales processes, negotiation techniques
- Experience working with 3PL providers and managing logistics operations within a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for accurate data entry and documentation management
- Excellent communication skills for liaising effectively with internal teams, clients, carriers, and regulatory authorities
- 3 years experience in an import or export department

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
