Team Leader – Edinburgh Fringe Festival (Bristo Square)
Company: The Carb Club
Location: Bristo Square, Edinburgh
Job Type: Temporary / Seasonal (August contract with paid training in July)
Pay Rate: £15+ Hourly Rate
About Us:
The Carb Club is an independent, high-energy street food brand serving up premium, heritage-driven Italian comfort food. Our menu is built on 100-year-old family recipes, slow-cooked for hours, and dished out to hungry crowds in seconds.
We are a progressive, values-driven business rooted in heart and purpose. We stand for radical inclusivity, we support our community by donating 100% of our merchandise profits to LGBT Youth Scotland, and we look after the crew making the magic happen. Our leadership uniquely pairs over 20 years of hospitality expertise with qualified life coaching to create a highly supportive, positive, and motivating team environment.
We are gearing up for the biggest month of the year, and we are looking for an exceptional, hands-on Team Leader to help run the show at one of the busiest spots in the city: Bristo Square.
The Role:
As a Team Leader at Bristo Square, you will be the driving force on the ground at the very heart of the festival action. Working closely with the founder, you will motivate the crew, maintain high operational standards, and ensure our signature energy and hospitality stay top-tier, even during peak festival rushes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shift Leadership: Supervise the front-of-house and kitchen teams during fast-paced festival service, keeping morale high and ticket times low.
- Quality Control: Ensure every single bowl of pasta leaves the counter looking perfect, meeting our portioning standards and strict food hygiene guidelines.
- Stock & Prep Management: Keep an eye on inventory levels, coordinate prep tasks, and ensure the station is consistently stocked, clean, and organized.
- Guest & Troubleshooting Support: Act as the first point of contact for customer queries, handling high-volume crowds with a calm, friendly, and professional approach.
- Value Champion: Foster an inclusive, respectful, and safe working environment for the entire team, aligned with our company values.
Key Dates & Availability:
- Paid Training: Throughout July (flexible part-time hours at our current Edinburgh residency to get you fully up to speed with our workflows and culture).
- Festival Run: August 4th, 2026 – August 31st, 2026 (Full availability during these festival dates is essential, including weekends, afternoons, and late evenings).
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience: Previous supervisory or team leader experience in a fast-paced hospitality, restaurant, or high-volume street food environment is required.
- Leadership Style: You lead by example. You aren’t afraid to get stuck in, roll up your sleeves, and inspire a team by working right alongside them.
- Operational Drive: Sharp problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet when the Fringe gets busy.
- Reliability: Exceptionally organized, punctual, and thrive under the high energy of a major festival hub.
- Alignment with Our Values: Passionate about inclusive hospitality and supporting a progressive, ethical workforce.
What’s In It For You?
- Competitive Pay: A premium hourly rate well above the Living Wage.
- A Supportive Environment: Gain leadership experience in a workspace shaped by professional coaching, where your own development is actively supported.
- Great Perks: Delicious fresh pasta meals on shift and unbeatable team vibes at the absolute center of the Edinburgh Fringe.
Pay: £15.00-£16.00 per hour
Benefits:
- Discounted or free food
