Alba Dewatering Services is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic IT Manager to join our growing team and support the delivery of high-quality dewatering solutions across the UK.
About the Role
The IT Manager will be responsible for managing and developing the Company's IT infrastructure, network and cyber security posture in line with relevant frameworks, as well as providing technical support across the business. Being able to support a varied user-base across commercial services and field-based operatives with technical support is essential in this role.
Being able to work at both strategic and operational levels is required, you will need to be able to be hands-on and be a visionary with strategic insights. As a key communicator, you will need to be able to articulate yourself to varying stakeholders across the business. You will play a key role in ensuring our systems remain secure, resilient and fit for purpose while supporting employees across the business with day-to-day IT requirements.
A key objective of the role will be to lead and maintain the Company's Cyber Security accreditations, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity best practices and driving continuous improvement in Data and Information security.
Key Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure, Cloud & Network Management
· Manage, maintain and continually improve the Company's IT infrastructure.
· Monitor and support network performance, security, reliability and resilience.
· Manage servers, cloud services, backups, business continuity and disaster recovery arrangements.
· Manage the Microsoft 365 tenancy for the business, ensuring business continuity is considered within the approach.
· Ensure all IT assets are maintained, documented and appropriately configured.
Cyber Security & Compliance
· Lead the Company's Cyber Security accreditations (inc. Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus) and annual renewal process.
· Implement and maintain cybersecurity policies, controls and procedures.
· Monitor security risks and vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.
· Manage endpoint protection, patch management, access controls and security monitoring.
· Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents and security alerts.
· Liaise with external security providers and auditors where required.
GDPR, IT Governance & Documentation
· Develop, implement and maintain GDPR & IT policies and procedures.
· Ensure documentation is accurate, up to date and accessible.
· Maintain IT asset registers, network diagrams, system documentation and support records.
· Promote GDPR & IT best practices throughout the business.
End User Support
· Provide technical support to all users across the business.
· Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network and connectivity issues.
· Manage the IT helpdesk function and ensure support tickets are resolved efficiently.
· Support users both remotely and on-site.
Hardware & Software Management
· Configure and deploy laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers and other IT equipment – in secure fashion.
· Manage hardware lifecycle planning, procurement and replacement programmes.
· Maintain software licensing and asset management records.
· Coordinate suppliers and third-party support providers.
Training & Continuous Improvement
· Deliver in-house GDPR, IT and cybersecurity awareness training.
· Educate staff on cybersecurity risks, phishing awareness, acceptable use and data protection principles.
· Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes from an IT perspective.
· Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and user experience.
Skills & Experience
Essential
· A minimum or 5 years previous experience in an IT Manager, Infrastructure Manager, Network Manager or similar role
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration
· Experience managing networks, firewalls, switches, wireless infrastructure and VPNs
· Hands-on experience with Windows operating systems and server environments
· Experience implementing and managing cybersecurity controls and best practices
· Experience managing Cyber Essentials accreditation or similar cybersecurity frameworks
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
· Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users
· Experience writing policies, procedures and technical documentation
· Full UK driving licence
Desirable
· Microsoft certifications
· CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft or similar certifications
· Cyber Essentials Assessor knowledge
· Experience within construction, engineering, manufacturing or plant hire industries.
· Experience with cloud infrastructure and Azure environments
· Knowledge of data protection and GDPR requirements

Pay: From £45,000.00 per year
