Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Driver to join our team. Full clean drivers license required. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials efficiently and safely to various locations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to operate different types of vehicles, including flatbed lorries. The Driver will play a vital role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high standards of customer service. Please note that it is essential that your are able to commute daily to the yard to collect the truck and drop back to the yard at the end of each day. All fuel, uniform and materials are supplied. Weekly paid.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles, including caged tipper truck, for the delivery of goods to active sites along with collecting rubbish from site and disposing at the recycling centre
- Plan and follow efficient routes to meet delivery schedules
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and safety compliance
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of goods during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams
- Assist with warehouse activities as required, including inventory management and stock organisation
- Adhere to all traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies during all driving activities
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging professionally with clients upon delivery
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving and delivery roles, preferably with warehouse experience
- Familiarity with driving various types of vehicles, including flatbed lorries
- Knowledge of mechanical systems related to commercial vehicles is advantageous
- Previous experience as a <PERSON> driver or similar role is desirable
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and clients
- Experience in handling deliveries using flatbeds or similar specialised equipment is preferred
