Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and dependable Security Officer to safeguard our premises, staff, and assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring security systems, conducting patrols, and ensuring a safe environment for all. This role requires a professional with keen observation skills, a proactive approach to loss prevention, and the ability to respond effectively in emergencies. Prior experience with surveillance equipment and CCTV systems is advantageous. The Security Officer will play a vital role in maintaining security protocols and providing peace of mind within our organisation.
Duties
- Monitor surveillance cameras (CCTV) to detect suspicious activity or security breaches
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify potential security risks or hazards
- Implement loss prevention strategies by observing customer and staff behaviour
- Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies, including administering first aid if necessary
- Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and security checks
- Enforce access control procedures by verifying identification and authorisation of visitors and staff
- Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services when required
- Ensure all security equipment is functioning correctly and report any faults or issues
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors and staff courteously
Requirements
- Proven experience in surveillance, loss prevention, or security roles preferred
- Knowledge of CCTV systems and other security monitoring equipment
- Valid first aid certification is desirable
- Strong observational skills with an eye for detail
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Physically fit to perform patrols and respond swiftly to incidents
- Must be reliable, trustworthy, and discreet in handling sensitive information
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required; availability for night shifts may be advantageous
Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
