Please note: This role is field-based in Somerset and requires travel throughout the South West.
Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK without sponsorship, hold a full UK driving licence, and be able to travel to customer sites daily.
Somerset Industrial Doors Ltd is a well-established and growing company specialising in the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of industrial and commercial door systems throughout the South West.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Industrial Door Engineer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer seeking a varied role with a reputable company that values quality workmanship, customer service, and professional development.
Salary & Benefits
- £18.00+ per hour, depending on experience
- Weekday overtime paid at Time and a Half
- Weekend overtime paid at Double Time

Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and repair a wide range of industrial doors and shutters
- Install new industrial and commercial door systems
- Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical faults
- Respond to emergency breakdown call-outs when required
- Complete service reports and associated paperwork accurately
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures and industry standards
- Provide a professional and customer-focused service at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience working with industrial doors, roller shutters, sectional doors, rapid-roll doors, gates, barriers, or loading bay equipment
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- DHF training or other relevant industry qualifications
- Experience with automatic door systems would be advantageous
- IPAF and/or CSCS certification
