Develop the Next Generation of Leicester City Women Players
Leicester City Women are seeking a passionate, motivated, and aspiring ETC Mentee Coach to join our Women's Academy programme.
This is an exciting opportunity for coaches looking to develop their experience within an elite football environment, supporting the growth and progression of talented young players within our Emerging Talent Centre (ETC).
Working alongside experienced Academy coaches, you will play a key role in creating a positive, challenging, and supportive environment that helps players maximise their potential both on and off the pitch. The role offers an excellent platform for personal development while contributing to the long-term growth of the women's game.
About the Role
As an ETC Mentee Coach, you will support the delivery of coaching across Leicester City Women's Academy age groups, including players within the Foundation Phase and Under-18 pathway.
Working closely with Lead Coaches, you will assist with planning, delivering, and reviewing training sessions, contributing to the technical, tactical, physical, and social development of players while helping to create an environment where every individual can thrive.
This role is ideal for enthusiastic coaches who are committed to learning, developing their coaching practice, and supporting the journey of young female players within an elite football pathway.
What You'll Be Doing
Coaching and Session Delivery
- Support ETC age group coaches in delivering high-quality technical and tactical coaching sessions.
- Assist with the planning, delivery, and review of individual, small-group, and team training activities.
- Deliver both club-prescribed sessions and coach-led practices aligned to the Leicester City Women coaching philosophy.
- Prepare players for training and matches through engaging warm-up activities.
- Help create a positive learning environment that promotes development, enjoyment, and high standards.
- Ensure the safety and welfare of players during training sessions and matches.
Player Development
- Contribute to the development of players across all aspects of the four-corner model.
- Support the creation and implementation of Individual Development Plans (IDPs) where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with Lead Coaches to identify player strengths and areas for development.
- Help facilitate player progression through the Academy pathway.
Professional Development
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement.
- Engage fully with individual development plans and mentoring opportunities.
- Undertake a minimum of three hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Support and promote Leicester City Women's playing and coaching philosophy.
Safeguarding and Compliance
- Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding and player welfare.
- Report any concerns to the Women's Safeguarding and Welfare Manager and/or Designated Safeguarding Officer.
- Adhere to all Club policies relating to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, health and safety, confidentiality, and GDPR.
- Uphold Leicester City values and behaviours at all times.
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum FA Level 1 Coaching Qualification (or equivalent).
- FA DBS certification.
- FA Safeguarding Children Certificate (or willingness to complete within three months).
- FA Level 1 Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAiF) or FA Emergency First Aid qualification.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Qualifications
- UEFA C Licence.
- National Goalkeeping Award.
Skills and Experience
- Experience working with players aged 8–14.
- Passion for player development and long-term athlete progression.
- Understanding of age-appropriate coaching methods and skill development.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with players, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Ability to use initiative and take ownership of responsibilities.
- Understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion within football.

Additional Information
- This role requires evening, weekend, and matchday availability, including some Public Holidays.
- The successful candidate will be required to complete all mandatory Club training.
- The role is subject to a satisfactory FA Enhanced DBS check with Children's Barred List check.
- Applicants must be able to travel independently to training, match, and academy venues.

In May 2021, LCFC Women were promoted to the FA Women’s Super League. From its formation in 2004, the Club was run on an amateur and semi-professional basis with support from Leicester City Football Club.
