Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter/Decorator to join our team. This role involves applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming prior to painting or decorating
- Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Ensure colour matching and finish quality meet client specifications
- Protect surrounding areas by covering furniture, floors, and fixtures during work
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment throughout each project
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and any issues encountered
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times during work activities
Experience
- Proven experience in construction painting or decorating is highly desirable
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications is advantageous
- Familiarity with different types of paints, coatings, and decorating techniques
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Driving experience with a valid licence is preferred but not essential
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills to ensure high standards of finish are maintained throughout each project
Pay: £16.00-£22.00 per hour
