About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Quality Assurance & Compliance Manager to join our leadership team and play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of care, safeguarding and regulatory compliance within our residential children's home.
Working closely with the Operations Manager, Responsible Individual, Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, you will provide operational oversight, quality assurance and management support to ensure the home consistently delivers outstanding care and remains fully compliant with the Children's Homes Regulations and Ofsted requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day management and operational oversight of the residential children's home.
- Provide guidance and support to the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager and wider staff team.
- Monitor the quality of care, safeguarding practice, staffing arrangements and overall service delivery.
- Lead quality assurance audits, paperwork reviews and compliance monitoring, ensuring regulatory standards are consistently met.
- Review care plans, risk assessments, behaviour support plans, placement plans and statutory documentation.
- Complete Regulation 44 independent visits and produce comprehensive reports.
- Prepare and submit Regulation 40 notifications where required.
- Contribute to Regulation 45 Quality of Care Reviews, identifying strengths, trends and areas for improvement.
- Investigate incidents, safeguarding concerns, complaints and significant events, ensuring learning is embedded across the service.
- Support HR processes, including recruitment, safer recruitment checks, performance management, employee relations and absence management.
- Assist with rota planning, staffing cover and payroll checks to ensure safe staffing levels.
- Conduct staff supervisions, probation reviews and appraisals where required.
- Develop and review policies, procedures and quality assurance systems.
- Work collaboratively with local authorities, social workers, Ofsted and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for children.
- Support senior leaders in implementing service improvement plans and driving continuous development.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience working within a residential children's home in a senior leadership or management role.
- Excellent knowledge of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and safeguarding legislation.
- Experience undertaking audits, quality assurance activities and compliance monitoring.
- Knowledge of Regulation 40, Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 requirements.
- Experience managing HR processes, including safer recruitment, employee relations and performance management.
- Strong report-writing, organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with professionals, commissioners and external agencies.
- A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving and leadership skills.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel where required.
