Duties
- Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse
- Use warehouse management systems to track inventory movements accurately
- Perform routine equipment repairs and maintenance to ensure forklift safety and functionality
- Handle materials with precision, ensuring proper stacking, storage, and organization
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes by preparing shipments and verifying incoming deliveries
- Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment and work areas to prevent accidents
- Support heavy lifting tasks using mechanical knowledge to move bulky or awkward items efficiently
Experience
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control
- Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues
- Strong materials handling skills with attention to safety protocols
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to weights, measurements, and inventory counts
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving operations is highly desirable
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods
