Production Coordinator
Pay: £28,000 - £30,000 per year
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Line Support
- Prepare and coordinate materials, parts, and sub-assemblies for each production station in line with the daily build plan.
- Ensure each work area has the correct stock, components, and consumables required to complete scheduled jobs.
- Review the production order flow and help make sure each station is set up correctly for the work coming through.
- Support the smooth flow of work between stations by identifying shortages, bottlenecks, or missing parts before they disrupt production.
- Help prepare the shop floor and materials for the following day’s production requirements.
Stock & Materials Control
- Maintain accurate control of stock, parts, and materials used in production.
- Monitor stock levels and flag replenishment requirements in good time.
- Work with purchasing, stores, and production teams to ensure required materials are available when needed.
- Carry out regular stock checks and support inventory accuracy across production and warehouse areas.
- Assist with the receipt, storage, issue, and movement of materials and finished goods where required.
Warehouse & Workplace Organisation
- Maintain a tidy, organised, and efficient warehouse and production support area.
- Ensure stock is stored clearly, safely, and in the correct locations.
- Support good housekeeping standards across materials, stores, and production support areas.
- Help ensure all materials, parts, and components are labelled and controlled properly.
Coordination & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with production, procurement, and management to support efficient planning and workflow.
- Highlight material shortages, recurring stock issues, or process inefficiencies to management.
- Support improvements in stock control, line feeding, workplace organisation, and production readiness.
- Assist with maintaining accurate records, spreadsheets, and related production/materials documentation.
Key Requirements
- Previous experience in production support, stores, materials control, warehouse coordination, or a similar role.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to plan ahead and ensure production areas are prepared correctly.
- Good understanding of stock control and material handling.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and a practical, problem-solving approach.
- Physically capable of handling materials and supporting manual tasks where required.
Desirable
- Experience supporting a manufacturing or assembly environment.
- Familiarity with stock systems, spreadsheets, or production planning tools.
- Forklift or material-handling experience.
- Knowledge of Lean, 5S, or general continuous improvement practices.
