Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our small team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable independently running a kitchen and have a passion for food. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in the preparation and presentation of dishes, ensuring that all food safety standards are adhered to. This position requires a blend of creativity and efficiency in meal preparation, contributing to an great dining experience for our customers.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Assist in the planning of menus and meal preparation schedules.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
- Participate in regular kitchen meetings to discuss menu changes, special events, or operational improvements.
Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred, demonstrating knowledge of food preparation techniques.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices is essential.
- Culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- A genuine passion for cooking and creating delicious meals that delight guests.
