CHIC is a successful family-run independent retailer with stores in the beautiful Derbyshire towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell and Buxton. For over 15 years, we have built a loyal customer base by offering a carefully curated range of ladies' and children's clothing, accessories and gifts, alongside exceptional customer service.
We are passionate about what we do and are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Sales Assistant to join our team in Bakewell.
The Role
You will play a key role in creating an enjoyable shopping experience for our customers. Working within a small and supportive team, you will help maintain our high standards of customer service, visual merchandising and store presentation.
This is a part-time position advertised at 2 days per week; however, we are happy to discuss alternatives for the right candidate.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 9:15am – 5:15pm
- Saturday: 9:15am – 5:45pm
- Sunday: 10:15am – 4:45pm
The role will include weekend working on a rota basis. Rotas are prepared monthly. While flexibility is preferred, specific working days can be discussed during the interview process.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding customer service and assist customers with purchases and enquiries
- Process transactions accurately and securely using the till system
- Maintain attractive product displays and merchandising standards
- Promote products, special offers and seasonal collections
- Support the team in achieving sales targets and store objectives
- Resolve customer queries and concerns professionally and efficiently
- Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming retail environment
About You
The ideal candidate will be:
- Friendly, approachable and customer-focused
- A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
- Enthusiastic, reliable and willing to learn
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Flexible and adaptable in a busy retail environment
Experience
- Previous retail or customer service experience is desirable but not essential
- Experience in sales and achieving targets would be advantageous
- Full training will be provided for the right candidate
