We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Level 2 Swim Teachers to join our leisure and wellbeing hub. Our team is passionate about providing a safe, high-quality, and comprehensive swimming lesson programme tailored to all ages and abilities.
We are seeking two dedicated swim teachers for two-hour sessions on Thursday evenings, as well as enthusiastic relief teachers to support us on an ad hoc basis.
Our goal is to deliver a safe, inclusive, and high-quality swimming lesson programme for participants of all ages and abilities.
As a Swimming Teacher with North Yorkshire Council’s Leisure Services, you will plan, deliver, and evaluate swimming lessons, creating a positive and engaging learning environment. You will support participants to build water confidence, improve safety awareness, and develop technical swimming skills, from non-swimmers to advanced levels, while providing excellent customer care and progress feedback. All work must follow North Yorkshire Council policies and procedures.
What we need from you:
- Ability to plan and deliver effective, enjoyable, and motivating swimming lessons in line with the Swim England framework
- A customer focused approach at all times
- Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities for children and vulnerable adults
- Understanding of health and safety practices
- Ability to work effectively within the swim teaching team
- Confident, clear, and accurate communication skills
- Ability to adapt teaching to different ages, abilities, and individual needs
