Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Supervise kitchen staff during shifts, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols
- Manage food production processes, including portioning, plating, and presentation of meals
- Oversee food safety practices, maintaining cleanliness and compliance with health regulations
- Assist in menu planning and development to ensure variety and quality
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Train new team members in food preparation, safety procedures, and service standards
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment at all times
Experience
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Supervising experience is preferred, demonstrating leadership skills and team management capabilities
- Strong background in food production, culinary techniques, and food safety standards
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, and serving a diverse range of cuisines
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant roles will be considered an advantage
