Are you a Class 1 HGV Driver looking for regular Saturday work at £17.50 per hour, with the opportunity to pick up additional weekday shifts?
Shred Station is looking for a reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our transport team at our Rackheath depot.
This is primarily a Saturday driving role, with the main focus on preparing and moving our vehicles and trailers ready for the following week's operations. You'll be part of our transport team, carrying out Class 1 vehicle movements, yard shunting and vehicle preparation, with the opportunity to undertake local driving and collection work when required.
We can also offer additional weekday shifts when cover is required for our regular drivers, giving you the flexibility to increase your hours when work is available.

The Role
As part of our Saturday transport team, you will:
- Carry out Class 1 vehicle and trailer movements around the depot.
- Safely manoeuvre vehicles and trailers into position.
- Prepare vehicles and trailers ready for the following week's operations.
- Carry out vehicle safety checks and report any defects promptly.
- Assist with general yard duties and vehicle preparation.
- Carry out local driving or collections when required.
- Keep vehicles, trailers and the yard clean, tidy and organised.
- Complete electronic collection notes and associated paperwork accurately.
- Work safely and professionally at all times.
- Take on additional weekday cover shifts when available and agreed.
Main Duties
- Drive and manoeuvre HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and responsibly.
- Carry out yard shunting and trailer movements.
- Ensure vehicles and trailers are correctly prepared for the week ahead.
- Complete daily vehicle safety checks.
- Report any defects, damage or operational issues promptly.
- Assist with loading, unloading and general yard activities where required.
- Carry out local collections or driving duties when required.
- Comply with all DVSA regulations, Drivers' Hours legislation, Working Time regulations and company procedures.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety.
- Work as part of the wider transport and yard team.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence.
- Driver CPC Qualification Card.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous Class 1 driving experience is preferred.
- Previous yard shunting or trailer movement experience would be advantageous.
- Reliable, punctual and professional.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Good communication skills.
- Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual tasks.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible and willing to assist with different duties when required.
Additional Weekday Work
Although this is primarily a Saturday position, there may be opportunities to pick up additional weekday shifts as a cover driver for our regular weekday drivers.

Security Screening
Due to the nature of our business, successful applicants will be required to complete security screening to BS7858 standards, including:
- Five-year employment and residence history check.
- DBS check.
- Financial history check.
Additional security vetting, including checks by UK Police Forces and up to UK Government Security Clearance (SC) level, may also be required depending on customer requirements.
