Mahdlo Youth Zone is a young people’s charity based in Oldham with a vision to empower Oldham’s young people to thrive through excellent youth work. Our mission is to provide opportunities to raise aspirations and support young people to reach their full potential through the delivery of high-quality experiences, ensuring youth voice is a golden thread in shaping everything we do.
We are looking for a creative and energetic Digital Communications and Marketing Officer to join our successful team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys creating engaging and innovative content, has a passion for digital communications and, most importantly, is passionate about working with young people.
Working alongside the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will support the planning, co-ordination, production and publishing of engaging content across Mahdlo’s social media channels and website. You will play an important role in building our online presence and communicating the impact of our work to young people, parents, partners, funders and the wider community.
A key part of the role will be working directly with young people to support them to share their stories in creative, engaging and fun ways. You’ll capture content through photography, video and social media, creating content that showcases the Youth Zone and the positive impact we have on young people across Oldham.
You will also monitor and develop our social media and website, using analytics, trends and insights to improve our digital presence. From creating TikToks, Reels and Stories to supporting blogs, campaigns, events and fundraising activity, you’ll help ensure our communications are youth-led, engaging and continuously improving.
We’re looking for someone who is creative, confident and able to think on their feet, with excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of digital and social media. You’ll need to be comfortable working directly with young people and building positive relationships across the Youth Zone.
You must be committed to working within the spirit of Mahdlo’s core values – Passion, Respect, Inclusion, Dependability and Excellence – which describe the way we work.
