Job Overview
We’re looking for a trainee team leader to once trained take ownership of our warehouse Site at Braintree.
This role created to remove day-to-day operational oversight from the General Manager at Braintree, giving you real autonomy to run, build, and improve operations.
Initially, the role will be hands-on, you will need to learn the pick and pack operation and understand each customer requirements to then be able to help build the team, embed processes, and get the operation fully costed. .
Hours starting at 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday and 2 saturdays a month 9am-4pm
Responsibilities
- Replenish pick locations and make sure fully stocked for pickers
- Supervise receiving operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Utilise Warehouse Management System Pimento to track move and manage stock and locations.
- Supervise warehouse staff, including forklift operators, ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Drive the counter balance and VNA Truck for stock movements and deliveries
- Monitor profit & loss metrics related to logistics operations to optimise costs
- Implement process improvements aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing waste through continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations within warehouse environments

Requirements
- Act as Site warehouse team leader, leading the warehouse operation day-to-day
- Support Chelmsford warehouse, when required, through an existing Manager and Warehouse Supervisor
- Manage Health & Safety and staff performance
- FLT counter balance and or VNA licence
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Strong people manager with experience building and leading teams
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing business
- Hands-on approach when needed
Desirable:
- Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality system
- eCommerce or 3PL background
