Join our East London Housing Management Team at L&Q:
L&Q is one of the UK’s largest housing associations and providers of social and affordable homes. We house around 250,000 people primarily across Greater London and Greater Manchester. Our purpose is simple – to provide social homes and landlord services that everyone can be proud of. L&Q is working in partnership with its energy supplier to deliver SMART meter installation programme across a number of estates over the next 12 months. To support this initiative, we are recruiting two full-time meter reading caretakers on a fixed term basis.

Your impact in the role: The successful postholders will play a key role in ensuring the programme is delivered efficiently and safely by locating meters, obtaining accurate meter readings, facilitating access arrangements and working closely with the energy supplier, residents and internal teams. This role will contribute directly to improving energy management, data accuracy and service delivery across our estates. In addition to the SMART meter programme, the role will provide wider caretaking support across the Estate Services Team during quieter periods. This will include assisting with estate-based activities, supporting compliance and fire safety actions, installing signage, carrying out minor communal maintenance tasks and helping to maintain safe, clean and welcoming environment for residents.
