Role Overview:
The Retail Showroom Heating Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and commercial performance of a heating showroom. The role involves advising customers on heating solutions, managing sales, supporting staff, maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and installers, and ensuring the showroom provides a professional and welcoming customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Service
- Welcome customers and identify their heating requirements.
- Provide knowledgeable advice on heating products and solutions.
- Prepare presentations using sketchup and other CAD pacakages.
- Prepare quotations, process orders, and follow up on enquiries.
- Achieve agreed sales, margin, and customer-service targets.
- Handle customer questions, complaints, and after-sales enquiries professionally.
- Build long-term relationships with customers and trade clients.
- Organise, schedule & carry out surveys
Showroom Management
- Ensure the showroom is clean, organised, well-presented, and fully stocked with appropriate displays and product information.
- Keep product pricing, brochures, samples, and promotional materials up to date.
- Coordinate showroom displays and product demonstrations.
- Monitor stock levels and arrange replenishment where required.
- Ensure showroom equipment and displays are safe and in good working order.
Team Management
- Lead, motivate, and support showroom sales staff.
- Allocate daily tasks and monitor individual and team performance.
- Train staff on products, sales techniques, customer service, and company procedures.
- Assist with recruitment and onboarding where required.
- Conduct team meetings and provide regular feedback.
Product & Technical Knowledge
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all heating products and related accessories.
- Understand manufacturers' specifications, warranties, and installation requirements.
- Liaise with technical teams, manufacturers, and qualified installers when specialist advice is required.
- Ensure customers receive appropriate guidance without providing advice outside the company's or individual's qualifications.
Commercial & Operational Duties
- Monitor showroom sales, profitability, quotations, conversion rates, and targets.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales and develop new business.
- Manage supplier relationships and stay informed about new products and promotions.
- Support purchasing and stock management.
- Ensure company procedures relating to sales, cash handling, customer data, and health and safety are followed.
- Prepare sales and performance reports for senior management.
Key Skills & Experience
- Experience in retail, showroom, sales, or the heating industry.
- Strong customer-service and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of heating products and their applications.
- Commercial awareness and confidence working with sales targets.
- Leadership and staff-management ability.
- Good organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to prepare accurate quotations and manage customer orders.
- Professional approach to resolving customer issues.
- Comfortable working with suppliers, installers, tradespeople, and members of the public.

Salary – Basic & unlimited bonus
Basic - £35,000.00
Bonus based on current overall heating sales would be £25,000.00 but unlimited
Hours
42.5 hour week – flexible hours
Saturday cover is required with other staff.
