Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Manager to oversee daily operations within our busy hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant and kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. The Shift Manager will play a vital role in supervising staff, coordinating food preparation, and maintaining smooth operational flow during their shift.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant or hotel operations during assigned shifts, ensuring efficiency and high standards of service.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to guarantee quality and consistency in all dishes served.
- Manage team members, including assigning tasks, providing training, and motivating staff to deliver excellent customer experiences.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all areas of the kitchen and service.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders when necessary, and manage inventory to prevent shortages or wastage.
- Handle customer enquiries or complaints professionally, aiming to resolve issues promptly and maintain guest satisfaction.
- Assist in training new staff members on operational procedures, safety protocols, and customer service expectations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the work environment in accordance with health regulations.
- Support the management team in implementing policies, procedures, and initiatives to enhance overall performance.
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong team management skills with the ability to lead by example and foster a positive working environment.
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
- Experience in food production, kitchen operations, or hotel services is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively during busy periods.
- Leadership qualities with a focus on motivating staff and maintaining high standards of service delivery.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and guests alike.
- Knowledge of hospitality industry regulations and best practices in food safety.
- Previous experience serving customers or barista experience is advantageous but not essential.
