Overview: Cascade Kids is a family run company that is friendly and lively. We run wrap around care provision for schools as well as activity, adventure and sport experiences for children and young people. The ideal person for this role with us will be confident, outgoing, good-natured, engaging, energetic and highly organised. They should have high levels of customer care as well as safety awareness. They will have excellent communication skills, be attentive to detail, and take safety and fun seriously. These skills, combined with a commitment to the Cascade Kids ethos, will ensure the smooth running of our high quality wrap around care provision.
Job purpose: To manage all aspects of the day-to-day running of one of our breakfast and after school clubs for children aged 3-11 years, including managing the well-being and safety of all the children, young people, parents and staff at the club. This role will be based at one of our Watford schools.
Key responsibilities of the Club Manager will include the following:
- Overall responsibility for the daily running of one of our clubs.
- Deliver safe and successful clubs in line with the operating procedures set out by Cascade Kids, and in accordance to additional information in the lead up to the clubs.
- Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all children in the club.
- Lead and inspire the staff team to achieve high levels of care, inclusion, instruction, organisation, and health and safety, adhering to all policies and procedures as set out by Cascade Kids.
- Deliver staff briefings and deploy staff in accordance with the operating procedures set out by Cascade Kids.
- Assist Cascade Kids Head Office staff in the completion of daily timetables.
- Be the main point of contact for parents and Cascade Kids Head Office during the operating hours of the club each day.
- Be involved in the running of activity sessions where possible.
- Ensure staff are well prepared and activities are well run, engaging, safe and FUN.
- Complete all pre and post club paperwork and administration.
- Attend a training and induction day.
- Liaise with Head Office regarding bookings, changes, complaints, child issues, etc.
- Liaise directly with parents to resolve any issues that may occur during each club.
- Review all Risk Assessments, making any amendments necessary and ensure staff are aware of risks associated with their activity and are being vigilant.
- Manage the daily registration process and sign-out procedure.
- Ensure OFSTED regulations are being met and act as the key person during an inspection.
- Prepare activity timetables and ensure all equipment is checked and ready for use.
- Carry out appraisals of all staff and complete activity observations.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
Essential Attributes:
- Have leadership/management experience in a childcare or activity based environment.
- Hold an Enhanced DBS check or are willing to obtain one.
- Excellent motivation and communication skills, verbal and written.
- Experience working with groups of young people.
- Ability to work under pressure and be professional at all times.
- Show an understanding and commitment to the Cascade Kids ethos.

Desirable Attributes:
- Have qualified teacher status or have extensive experience in the activity or childcare industry.
- Have a Paediatric First Aid certificate or other up-to-date first aid qualification.
