Experienced Waiter/Waitress / Barista
The Courtyard Café – Knutsford
From £12.71 per hour, with a higher rate available depending on experience
Minimum 30 hours per week, including weekend work
The Courtyard Café is a busy, family-run café in the heart of Knutsford. We are looking for an experienced, friendly and hard-working waiter, waitress or barista to join our close-knit front-of-house team.
This is a fast-paced role, so applicants must be confident working under pressure while continuing to provide excellent customer service. Previous experience in hospitality, front of house or a busy café environment is essential. Barista experience and confidence using a commercial coffee machine are strongly preferred.
Main responsibilities
- Welcoming and serving customers in a friendly and efficient manner
- Taking customer orders and providing information about the menu
- Preparing coffees and other hot drinks using a commercial coffee machine
- Preparing and serving food and beverages to a consistently high standard
- Taking payments and using a digital till system
- Maintaining a good understanding of allergens and dietary requirements
- Keeping the café, counter and customer areas clean and tidy
- Working closely with the kitchen and other front-of-house staff
- Providing attentive service during busy periods
What we are looking for
- Previous experience in a café, restaurant or similar hospitality environment
- Barista experience is preferred
- A friendly, confident and professional manner
- The ability to work quickly and calmly under pressure
- Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
- Good communication and customer-service skills
- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends and bank holidays
- The ability to travel reliably to Knutsford
Hours and benefits
- A minimum of 30 hours per week
- Weekend work will be required
- Typical shifts will fall between approximately 10:00am and 4:30pm
- Starting wage of £12.71 per hour
- A higher hourly rate may be offered depending on experience
