Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Laser/Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in operating press brake and Laser machinery. However, Laser training will be given.
This role involves fabricating and handling sheet metal components, ensuring precision and quality in every task. The Operator will work collaboratively with other team members to meet production goals while adhering to safety standards.
Hours will be 7.30 - 5.00 Monday to Thursday With potential overtime
Responsibilities
- Operate press brake and Laser machinery to bend, cut, form, and shape sheet metal according to specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings to determine the correct tooling and settings required for each job.
- Perform routine maintenance on Laser machine to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Perform routine maintenance on press brake machine to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Conduct quality checks to verify measurements and tolerances are within specified limits.
- Grind edges of metal parts as necessary to achieve desired finishes and tolerances.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Proven experience as a Press Brake Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Familiarity with tooling used in press brake operations is essential.
- Proficiency in working with sheet metal, including fabrication techniques and assembly processes.
- Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively for various tasks.
- Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations during production processes.
- A keen eye for detail, ensuring high-quality output in all tasks performed.
- Willingness to work as part of a team while also being able to work independently when required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £16.00-£18.00 per hour
