Shift Pattern: Day shifts commencing at 7:30am (staff required to arrive by 7:20am for handover)

About the Role
As a Care Assistant at Penlee, you will provide high-quality care and support tailored to each resident's individual needs, preferences, and choices. You will ensure residents receive compassionate, respectful, and professional care while promoting their physical, emotional, social, and psychological wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred care in accordance with individual care plans.
- Support residents with personal care, including washing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, drinking, and mobility.
- Promote independence and encourage residents to make choices about their daily lives.
- Support residents to participate in activities, hobbies, and social interactions.
- Respond promptly to call bells and requests for assistance.
- Observe and report any changes in residents' physical health, mental wellbeing, behaviour, or mood.
- Maintain accurate and timely care records and documentation.
- Participate in handovers and communicate effectively with colleagues and healthcare professionals.
- Follow all care plans, risk assessments, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure residents are cared for in a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
The safety and wellbeing of our residents are our highest priority. Successful candidates will be expected to:
- Safeguard residents from abuse, neglect, discrimination, exploitation, and poor practice.
- Remain vigilant to safeguarding concerns and report these promptly.
- Support and uphold Penlee's safeguarding and whistleblowing procedures.
- Promote residents' rights, dignity, and wellbeing at all times.
