Warehouse - in Rumney, Cardiff (Springmeadow Road, Springmeadow Industrial Park, CF3 2ES)
Work as a Van Driver in our Income Generation and Retail Team!
We're looking for someone to work on a fixed term contract for 12 months to work 35 hours per week.
We're interviewing at our Warehouse on the 31st July!
Due to insurance restrictions, you must be at least 25 years of age to drive our vans.
Do you have van driving experience? Do you understand safe working practices in a driving and warehouse environment? Do you have a valid UK Driving licence and are able to drive a 3.5 tonne vehicle?
Our Van Drivers travel all over parts of Wales & the South West and are based from our Cardiff warehouse (Springmeadow Road, Springmeadow Industrial Park, Rumney, CF3 2ES). You’ll need to be within a commutable distance to Rumney to collect and deliver our van back at the start and end of each day.
You can expect early morning Monday - Friday starts across a 35 hour week with no overnight stays
We’ve an experienced warehouse team and a friendly network of shops looking for a Van Driver. It’s someone to make sure our donations are delivered to stores and moved around properly to keep our tills ringing which helps raises the vital income to keep our services for those effected by cancer running. Some of this role is lone working but you may be accompanied by a volunteer sometimes to lend you a helping hand.
This job calls for someone who has the licence to drive a 3.5 tonne vehicle, who’s comfortable lifting and carrying heavy bags of stock and sometimes furniture and is great at customer service. Based from our Cardiff warehouse expect up to 3 or 4 drops per day largely across our charity shop network covering mainly South/West Wales and Bristol or concentrating on 1 or 2 shops in an area moving stock around and to the warehouse.

The Fit
The job’s all about making sure our van is driven safely around to deliver, collect and move stock and donations to where they need be on time and to the right place so you’re good at organisation and planning.
We’re not only looking for someone who can drive a 3.5 tonne van but someone who’s reliable, conscientious, can follow Health & Safety procedures and is used to frontline customer service. You may have done this type of work already and are looking for full time working hours and understand the importance of representing a company brand through your role.
As you’ll operate your role from our warehouse and will spend part of your time working there you should already understand safe working practices in this kind of working environment.
