The Role
Due to continued growth, GPR Ltd is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Miller – Programmer, Setter and Operator to join its skilled manufacturing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on machinist who enjoys working on a varied mix of precision-engineered components, from prototypes through to production runs. The successful candidate will be involved in programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines whilst ensuring the highest standards of quality and accuracy are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines.
- Manufacturing precision components to customer drawings and specifications.
- Producing prototype, small-batch and production parts to tight tolerances.
- Editing and optimising CNC programs to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Selecting tooling, fixtures and machining strategies.
- Conducting in-process quality checks.
- Working to ISO 9001 quality standard.
- Collaborating with colleagues across production and engineering functions to ensure on-time delivery.
- Maintaining a safe, well organised and efficient working environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ CNC machining experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience programming and operating Fanuc control systems.
- Strong background in CNC milling within a precision engineering environment.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience producing complex machined components to tight tolerances.
- Excellent understanding of machining processes, tooling and cutting parameters.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Reliable, professional and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with Haas CNC milling machines.
- Experience with Matsuura machining centres.
- Previous use of offline programming software.
- Experience working within aerospace, medical, automotive or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
Training & Development
Whilst experience with offline programming software packages such as OneCNC and Edgecam would be advantageous, GPR is committed to investing in the right individual and willing to provide appropriate training courses where required.
Package
- £37,000 - £45,000 basic salary (negotiable depending on experience).
- Overtime available at X1.33.
- 39-hour working week.
- Day shift position.
