Full-Time & Part-Time Barista – Speciality Coffee
We’re excited to be opening a new speciality coffee shop in early September, and we’re looking for passionate, reliable and friendly Baristas to join our team from the start.
We have opportunities available for both full-time and part-time positions.
This is a great opportunity to join a new business at the beginning of its journey and help us create a welcoming, quality-focused coffee experience from day one.
The Role
As a Barista, you’ll play an important part in establishing our coffee shop and delivering consistently high-quality drinks and excellent customer service. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their coffee, enjoys working with people and is excited to be part of a new team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a range of high-quality hot and cold drinks, including speciality coffee and tea.
- Prepare espresso-based drinks to a consistently high standard.
- Produce basic latte art to a good standard.
- Demonstrate an interest in filter coffee and different brewing techniques.
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming customer service.
- Take customer orders accurately and operate the till, including cash and card payments.
- Maintain excellent cleanliness and food hygiene standards across the coffee station and customer areas.
- Assist with basic food preparation and presentation.
- Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining quality and service standards.
- Support the team in creating a positive and enjoyable customer experience.
- Help contribute to a positive, professional and welcoming atmosphere as we establish the new coffee shop.
Requirements
- Previous barista experience is essential.
- Basic latte art skills are essential.
- Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Genuine passion for speciality coffee.
- Interest in filter coffee and different brewing techniques.
- Reliable, positive and enthusiastic approach to work.
- Availability to work at least one weekend day is essential.
- Availability for either full-time or part-time hours, depending on the position.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for enthusiastic and hardworking people who genuinely enjoy coffee and customer service. You should be confident preparing espresso-based drinks and comfortable producing at least basic latte art.
An interest in speciality coffee, filter coffee and brewing techniques is highly valued. Most importantly, we’re looking for people who are reliable, friendly, willing to learn and excited to be part of a new coffee shop from the beginning.
