At RF Canine Ltd, dog welfare always comes first.
We’re a friendly and passionate East London dog-care team, and we treat every dog as if they were part of our own family. Our walks are kept safe, enjoyable and personal, with no more than four dogs in a group and usually only two or three.
We’re now looking for a reliable and caring freelance dog walker to join our growing team.
About the role
This position would suit someone who genuinely loves dogs, is dependable and is happy to work outdoors in all kinds of British weather.
You’ll provide safe, enjoyable walks while following each dog’s individual care instructions and keeping in regular contact with the RF Canine team.
Key responsibilities
- Walking dogs individually or in small groups
- Safely handling and supervising dogs during walks
- Following each dog’s care instructions and routine
- Making sure every dog is safe, exercised and happy
- Providing updates following walks
- Communicating clearly with clients and the RF Canine team
- Reporting any health, behavioural or safety concerns promptly
- Treating clients’ homes, keys and personal information responsibly
Working hours
Most walks take place between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
Walk times and the amount of work available may vary depending on client bookings and dog-care requirements, so flexibility is important. Some occasional weekend work may also be available or required.
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Live within approximately 40 minutes’ travelling distance of Canary Wharf
- Be able to travel reliably throughout E14, E1 and E3
- Genuinely love dogs and put their welfare first
- Be reliable, trustworthy and punctual
- Be confident working independently
- Be comfortable working outdoors in all weather
- Have a smartphone with access to mobile data
- Communicate clearly and professionally
- Be physically capable of walking and safely handling dogs

Previous professional experience with dogs is preferred but not essential, as guidance and support can be provided to the right person.
The successful applicant must have, or be willing to obtain:
- An appropriate DBS check
- Suitable public liability insurance
- Self-employed registration with HMRC, where required
