Chef / Experienced Cook
We are a busy family-run café based in Willaston, Cheshire, looking for an experienced, reliable and hardworking Chef or Cook to join our team.
We pride ourselves on serving homemade, quality food, using locally sourced produce wherever possible. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys cooking from fresh ingredients, and can work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
We can serve up to 150 covers per day, so this role would suit someone who thrives under pressure, enjoys being part of a close-knit team, and has experience working in a fast-paced kitchen.
Sociable Hours That Allow for a Balanced Lifestyle
We are open Wednesday to Sunday, 9:30am–4:00pm (kitchen open until 3:30pm Wednesday–Saturday and 3:00pm on Sundays).
Typical working hours are between 7:30am and 4:00pm, with some flexibility for the right candidate.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items to a consistently high standard
- Assist with menu development and daily specials
- Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and organisation
- Work efficiently during busy service periods
- Assist with stock control, stock rotation and ordering when required
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented to company standards
- Support the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Work closely with the rest of the team to deliver excellent customer service
- Comply with all food safety and health and safety regulations
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working in a busy café, restaurant or similar kitchen environment
- Strong food preparation and cooking skills
- Good understanding of food hygiene and food safety regulations
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
- Reliable, punctual and hard-working
- Positive attitude and able to work well as part of a team
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Baking experience would be an advantage but is not essential
