Spencer Clarke Group are working with a welcoming primary school in Liverpool who are seeking an Unqualified Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional learning, behavioural and communication needs within a mainstream primary school. Many of the children benefit from consistent, structured and reliable support to help them engage with learning, build confidence and reach their full potential.
The school are looking for someone who is reliable, punctual and committed, as consistency is essential for pupils who thrive through familiar routines and positive relationships. Suitable backgrounds may include care settings, children's residential services, youth work, coaching, nursery settings, healthcare, support work or specialist education, where behaviour management, emotional support and safeguarding are key responsibilities.
Provide 1:1 and small group classroom support.
Support pupils with additional learning, behavioural and communication needs.
Help children remain engaged, motivated and focused during lessons.
Work alongside the class teacher to adapt learning activities and provide personalised support.
Support pupils with speech, language and communication needs where required.
Encourage confidence, independence and positive social interaction.
Help maintain a calm, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
Build positive, professional and consistent relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
Applicants should have experience supporting children or young people through roles such as:

Youth work or sports coaching.
Nursery or early years settings.
Learning support or classroom support.
Behavioural or emotional support.
Healthcare or community support roles.
