Leading Edge Group are a 70 strong group of three companies based in Liversedge spanning construction, fit out, fabrication, print and facilities management, with a Group turnover of £10m.
Our Projects team is our smallest division with a team of 12 encompassing the admininstration and site teams. We have a robust business plan to grow this in the next 3 years. As such we are looking for someone looking for a step up and to form part of our next stage of growth.
Due to increased contract wins we require a Project Quantity Surveyor to sit between our site teams and Finance functions.
Job Overview
In this vital role, you will oversee all financial aspects of construction and fit out projects, ensuring cost efficiency, accurate budgeting, and effective resource allocation. Your expertise will help drive project success from inception through completion, maintaining strict adherence to financial targets and contractual obligations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence project outcomes through precise cost control and strategic financial planning.
Duties
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor project expenditures continuously, comparing actual costs against budgets to identify variances early.
- Manage procurement processes, including tendering, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, verify quantities, and ensure work aligns with contractual specifications.
- Implement effective cost control measures to optimize resource use and minimize waste throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports and forecasts for project stakeholders, highlighting potential risks or savings opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, in house manufacturing and clients to ensure financial objectives are met without compromising quality or safety.
Skills
- Proven experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry, with a strong focus on cost control.
- Excellent understanding of construction contracts, procurement procedures, and financial management principles.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
- Effective communication skills to liaise confidently with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- A proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for identifying potential financial risks early on.
We are currently embarking on implementing Microsoft 365 Dynamics Business Central into our organisation. Experience of this platform is not essential but would be considered an advantage.

Pay: £42,000.00-£48,000.00 per year
