Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Nurse / Playworker to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, supporting their early development through engaging activities and personalised care. A background in early childhood education and nursery experience is preferred, alongside strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social development.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in your care at all times.
- Support children’s individual needs through personalised care plans.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through clear communication and professional conduct.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming nursery environment.
- Assist with daily routines such as snack times, lunch times, and outdoor play.
- Support the management team in organising activities and maintaining records of children's progress.
- Lead by example in demonstrating good practice in childcare standards and health & safety procedures.
- Supporting children with Additional Learning Needs and Disabilities.
Qualifications / Experience
- Previous experience working within a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Early Years Curriculum, child development stages and schemas.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Welsh language skills are highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively with children of various ages, demonstrating patience, empathy, and creativity.
- Being able to adapt to the changing environment
- Childcare qualifications such as CCPLD Level 2/Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred. Playwork Level 2/3 are also desirable.
- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their early years development. This role provides an enriching environment where you can make a positive impact on children's lives while developing your professional skills within a supportive team.
Pay: From £13.45 per hour
