Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Minibus Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting passengers safely and efficiently, ensuring a high standard of customer service. Applicants must hold a clean driving licence issued before 1997 which has a D1 category.
The charity offers flexible working patterns between 20 and 30 hours plus per week, working either a split shift pattern, am or pm shifts or full days. Shifts are during school term time, although additional hours are available if required.
This role requires excellent driving skills and good communication. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing essential transport services for a charity.
Duties
- Safely operate the minibus to transport passengers to designated locations in accordance with scheduled timetables
- Conduct pre-journey safety checks on the vehicle, including tyre pressure, fluid levels, and general condition
- Ensure all passengers are seated and wearing seat belts before departure
- Maintain accurate records of journeys, mileage, and vehicle inspections
- Assist passengers with boarding and alighting as needed, providing friendly and professional service
- Report any vehicle issues or maintenance needs promptly to the relevant department
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safety at all times
- Keep the interior of the vehicle clean and presentable after each journey
Skills
- Valid driver’s licence with a D1 catogory clean driving record
- Experience as a driver, preferably with passenger transport background
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
- Strong communication skills, capable of interacting politely with passengers and team members
- Good organisational skills to manage schedules and routes efficiently
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle unexpected situations professionally

Pay: £12.71-£22.04 per hour
