Commis Chef – Waterloo Hotel - Permanent Contract.

The Commis Chef role provides the opportunity to learn and develop specialist skills and knowledge whilst developing your craft.
Main Duties:
· Assisting other chefs in the food preparation process.
· Cooking and preparing elements of high-quality dishes.
· Preparing vegetables, meats, fish and any other foods as guided by the team.
· Helping with deliveries, restocking and assisting with stock rotation.
· Cleaning stations and contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards.
. Running the larder or dessert sections during your shift
To secure the role of a Commis Chef you will preferably have the following:
· Level 1 and 2 Food Safety Awards.
· Minimum 6 months relevant experience.
· Awareness of manual handling techniques, COSHH and chemical safety.
· Experience of kitchen equipment.
· Experience of dangerous equipment such as knives.
· It would be desirable if you had the following - City & Guilds 706/1 Catering, NVQ Level 1 in Professional Cookery, however the opportunity to study towards this while you earn is possible
