Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that all kitchen operations run smoothly by assisting with basic food preparation, cleaning, and organisational tasks. Duties
- Washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and preparing ingredients under supervision
- Supporting chefs and kitchen staff with organisational duties including restocking supplies and maintaining storage areas
- Ensuring the cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and other kitchen areas throughout shifts
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Adhering to all food safety standards and health & safety policies at all times
- Supporting the overall smooth operation of the kitchen during busy service periods
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided
- Experience working in a fast-paced setting such as a restaurant or catering service will be beneficial
- A positive attitude towards teamwork and willingness to learn new skills are essential for success in this role
