Practice Nurse Prescriber
East Renfrewshire | Part-Time (Hours Negotiable)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Practice Nurse Prescriber to join our friendly and supportive team in East Renfrewshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated clinician who enjoys working autonomously and delivering high-quality patient care within a modern primary care setting.
The successful candidate will be an experienced General Practice nurse with a strong background in chronic disease management, cervical screening, and independent prescribing. Experience in minor illness management would be advantageous.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive chronic disease management clinics, including: Diabetes
- Asthma
- COPD
- Hypertension
- Cardiovascular disease
- Undertake cervical screening (smears).
- Provide medication reviews and prescribe within scope of practice.
- Assess and manage patients presenting with minor illness (where appropriately trained).
- Provide health promotion and preventative healthcare interventions.
- Contribute to quality improvement activity and enhanced services.
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to provide safe, effective and patient-centred care.
Essential Criteria:
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Independent Prescriber qualification.
- Recent experience working within a General Practice setting.
- Demonstrable experience in chronic disease management.
- Competent in cervical screening.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied clinical workload.
Desirable Criteria:
- Minor Illness Practitioner qualification and/or experience.
- Family planning and sexual health experience.
- Experience using VISION clinical system.
