The Role
As a Maintenance Plumber / Multi-Skilled Operative, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of plumbing maintenance, repair, and minor installation works across residential properties.
You will work in customers' homes, diagnosing faults, resolving issues efficiently, and delivering exceptional customer service. The role will primarily focus on plumbing maintenance and repairs, with the opportunity to undertake bathroom refurbishments and other multi-trade works where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out reactive and planned plumbing maintenance works
- Diagnose and resolve plumbing faults efficiently and effectively
- Perform leak detection and repairs
- Replace and repair taps, valves, toilets, showers, pipework, and sanitaryware
- Carry out first and second fix plumbing works for minor installations and refurbishment projects
- Undertake bathroom repairs, upgrades, and occasional full bathroom installations
- Complete basic multi-trade tasks, including:
- Wall and floor tiling repairs
- Basic carpentry
- Minor plastering and making good
- Silicone sealing and finishing works
- Ensure all work complies with current UK building regulations and health and safety requirements
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
- Keep company vehicles, tools, and work areas clean, safe, and organised
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong client relationships at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Plumber, Multi-Skilled Operative, or similar role
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience carrying out plumbing maintenance and repair work within residential properties
- Ability to undertake a range of basic multi-trade tasks
- Experience in bathroom refurbishments or installations would be advantageous
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Full UK driving licence
- CSCS card (desirable but not essential)
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing (preferred)
