Eplan Energy is seeking a skilled and reliable Solar Panel Installer / Roofer to join our growing renewable energy team. You will be responsible for preparing residential roofs and safely installing solar photovoltaic (PV) mounting systems, rails, and panels. Key Responsibilities
- Roof Preparation: Inspect roof structures for defects and make minor structural adjustments or repairs before installation.
- System Installation: Securely fit roof hooks, flashing kits, mounting rails, and hardware to various roof types (including slate, concrete, clay tile, and flat roofs).
- Panel Fitting: Lay out and mount solar PV panels safely according to engineering schematics and manufacturer specifications.
- Weatherproofing: Correctly seal all roof penetrations to ensure complete weatherproofing and protect the integrity of the property.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside qualified Solar PV Electricians to ensure efficient DC cabling routing and seamless system integration.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to Working at Height Regulations, complete daily risk assessments, and utilize fall-protection gear correctly.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of proven roofing or solar PV installation experience.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of pitched and flat roofing systems, including tile removal and reinstatement.
- Safety Certifications: Valid CSCS Card and Working at Height certification are highly desirable.
- Driving Licence: Full, UK manual driving licence.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, punctuality, and excellent customer-facing communication skills.
