What your day could look like
You could start your day travelling to a client site to carry out workplace exposure monitoring, before assessing noise, vibration or LEV systems and providing practical advice on reducing workplace health risks.
You’ll have plenty of autonomy, managing your own diary, preparing equipment, carrying out assessments and producing clear reports and recommendations for clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out Occupational Hygiene inspections, testing, sampling and risk assessments
- Monitoring exposure to dusts, fumes, gases, vapours and other workplace hazards
- Conducting noise, vibration, lighting and LEV assessments
- Selecting the correct sampling equipment and testing methods
- Recording results and producing technical reports
- Providing clients with practical and impartial advice
- Managing your own diary, workload and travel arrangements
- Building strong relationships with existing clients
- Supporting trainee and associate-level consultants
What you’ll bring
You don’t need to have every Occupational Hygiene qualification, there’s plenty of opportunity to continue developing.
We’re looking for someone with:
- A minimum of two BOHS qualifications – M/W501 and M/W503
- Experience within Occupational Hygiene
- A full UK driving licence
- Good communication and report-writing skills
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Confidence working independently and directly with clients
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK and occasionally Europe, including overnight stays
Additional BOHS modules would be advantageous, but aren’t essential.
Role Details:
- Salary: £29,000 – £32,000 depending on qualifications and experience, plus authorised overtime
- Location: Hybrid – client sites, home working and occasional attendance at the Newcastle-under-Lyme office
- Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm, with site hours varying depending on projects
- Holidays: 25 days + bank holidays, increasing with service
