Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Coordinator to energize and enrich the lives of our residents through engaging, meaningful activities. The Activities Coordinator will plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational programs tailored to residents’ interests and needs, fostering social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical activity. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement diverse activity programs that promote socialization, cognitive engagement, and physical wellness for residents.
- Coordinate special events, outings, and themed activities that align with residents’ preferences and abilities.
- Collaborate with care staff to assess individual resident needs and customize activities accordingly.
- Foster an inclusive environment by encouraging participation from all residents, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity feedback to continually improve program offerings.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to promote upcoming activities and gather input.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all activities and outings to protect resident well-being.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of senior care practices, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care techniques.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with residents of varying cognitive levels.
- Experience in caregiving or care home environments is advantageous.
- Ability to plan engaging activities that cater to diverse interests and mobility levels.
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple programs simultaneously.
