We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children and supporting their early development. This role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children while maintaining high standards of childcare and organisational efficiency. The Nursery Manager will also be responsible for leading a team of staff, liaising with parents, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily running of the nursery, ensuring smooth and efficient operations
- Lead, motivate, and supervise nursery staff to deliver high-quality childcare services
- Develop and implement educational programmes aligned with early childhood education principles
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children and staff
- Build strong relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on children's progress
- Manage administrative tasks including staffing rotas, record keeping, and compliance documentation
- Organise staff training sessions to promote professional development
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations at all times
- Coordinate activities that support children's social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the nursery setting
Skills
- Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting
- Strong understanding of early childhood education practices and child development principles
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively with children, demonstrating patience and empathy
- Experience in childcare management or nursery operations is essential
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Valid driving licence is desirable for operational flexibility
- Ability to lead a team confidently whilst fostering a positive working environment
