Part-Time / 2nd Chef (1–2 Days per Week & Holiday Cover)
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled 2nd / Part-Time Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about food preparation and cooking and is looking to contribute to a vibrant kitchen environment on a flexible basis.
The position is for 1–2 days per week, with additional hours available to provide holiday cover as required. Flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends when needed, is essential.
The successful candidate will assist in preparing and serving high-quality meals, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and supporting the overall operation of the kitchen during busy service periods.
Duties
- Assist in preparing a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Support the Head Chef with meal preparation, garnishing, and plating.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including work surfaces, utensils, and equipment.
- Ensure food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed at all times.
- Help with food storage, rotation, and inventory management.
- Serve food to customers or assist in service during meal times as required.
- Support the team during busy periods to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
- Follow all health and safety procedures to prevent accidents or contamination.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail in meal presentation and kitchen cleanliness.
- Previous experience in meal preparation and kitchen operations is desirable.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work 1–2 days per week, with additional availability to provide holiday cover, including evenings and weekends when required.
- A genuine passion for culinary arts and delivering excellent customer service.
