Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist specialising in 5-axis machining to join our precision engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, setting, and programming one of our Doosan machine's to produce high-quality components. The ideal applicant will possess strong mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and experience working with a variety of materials, including plastics and metals.
Duties
- Set up and operate 5-axis CNC machine with precision to produce complex parts according to detailed technical drawings and specifications.
- Programme CNC machines using support from CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and other relevant tools.
- Perform turning, milling, and other machining processes to achieve specified tolerances and surface finishes.
- Conduct routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics accurately for manufacturing processes.
- Assist in the development of tooling and fixtures necessary for production runs.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during machine operation and handling of materials such as plastics injection moulding components.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and adhere to quality standards throughout production.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating 5-axis CNC machines in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks; familiarity with CAM programming is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and tooling for machining and assembly tasks.
- Knowledge of grinding, milling, welding, and plastics injection moulding processes.
- Basic mathematical skills for interpreting measurements and technical data accurately.
- Understanding of safety standards related to machining operations and material handling.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in machining or manufacturing are preferred but not essential.
